Frequently Asked Questions

A Strength & Conditioning class combines resistance training with conditioning work to build muscular strength, power, endurance, and athletic performance. At Fitness First, our strength & conditioning sessions use barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and bodyweight movements in 45-60 minutes formats.

Beginners should start with BODYPUMP, a barbell class with light-to-moderate weights and coach-led technique cues - perfect for learning squats, presses, and rows safely.

Most members see strong results with 2-4 strength sessions per week, allowing 48 hours of recovery between heavy sessions.

No prior experience is required. Fitness First group fitness instructors scale every movement to your level and teach proper form from the first rep. If you're completely new, BODYPUMP is the easiest entry point.

Les Mills Tone™ is one of the most effective classes for muscle toning as it provides a 3-in-1 workout combining strength, cardio, and core training. Unlike traditional weightlifting, it uses a mix of resistance tubing and bodyweight exercises to target smaller stabilizing muscles, helping to create a lean, sculpted look.

Because the movements are highly scalable, it is suitable for all fitness levels, allowing you to increase the intensity as your strength and muscle definition improve.
